Our new method of production allows Oil Creek Plastics to take advantage of today's more sophisticated production technology. Ultrasonic monitoring now controls all water and gas pipe extruded. This computerized system continuously checks the pipe for wall dimensions and diameter tolerances to insure the product meets all applicable standards.
A.I.M. production extrudes 1/2" through 1" water and gas pipe on large diameter reels. Producing the pipe on large reels reduces the coil memory of polyethylene pipe. When the end user unrolls the coil, it will have a reduced tendency to recoil during installation.
The reels are then routed to our new coiling equipment. THis computerized equipment makes the individual coils to the programmed length. The next stage of coiling pipe is the packaging. All 1/2" through 1" NSF water pipe and gas pipe are individually shrink-wrapped. The shrink-wrapping of Oil Creek Plastics pipe allows for more stable stacking of coils.
In the final stage of water pipe production, a rubber plug is inserted into both ends of the coil and air is infused. Plugging the coil prevents dirt, debris or other contaminants from getting into the coil. When the installer removes or cuts off the plug, the "hiss" that is heard informs the installer that no puncture has occurred after the coil has been produced and shipped. |
